You can take off for some whale watching excitement or maybe you might want to visit the Roosevelt Campobello International Park heritage cottage instead or even do both.
Be sure you don’t forget Herring Cove Provincial Park is on the island as well, with trails and sheer cliffs allow for brilliant viewings of bald eagles, osprey. Be sure to bring your binoculars as you could even spot some whales in the distance.
You can’t go to Campobello Island with checking out U. S. President, Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 34 room Cottage which is now known as the Roosevelt Cottage Museum. It’s one of the main focal points of Roosevelt Campobello International Park.
For the nature lover the park has:
- gorgeous wind-swept beaches
- spruce and fir forests
- salt marshes
- sphagnum bogs
Flourishing forests and meadows are filled with:
- wild berries
- lots of shrubs
Due to the strong pull of our sun and moon we tend to have the highest tides globally. The bay can rise 50 feet covering beaches with more than a million tonnes of tidal waters.
