7 Travel Planning Tips For Your Next Trip

float-planeOur son just got a job out west, thousands of miles away from home and we are going to be missing each other terribly. Jenny and I know it won’t be long before we take a trip to Saskatchewan to visit him.

We were going to fly out but have had second thoughts about that. If we drive we can bring a lot more things with us so the plan has changed from flying to driving which will require more time so our planning will have to be really thought out well.

It seems money is always an issue in today’s struggling economy so we have to stick to a budget and that means planning our trip well in advance, so we are starting our planning now, however our trip isn’t for another 3 months at least.

Plan Your Trip Well Ahead of Time

Today it seems that anything booked well in advance is usually cheaper. This means those of us on budgets need to plan early to get more bang for your buck. A good goal to aim for is booking at least a month in advance.

Planning ahead of time is a good plan whether you’re plan is to fly, take a train, a cruise or driving. This is even more important if you plan to leave the country as security is heavy and strict, so plan for it.

Although our future plans are specifically to visit our son out west it still needs planning so we know where we will be lodging while driving across Canada.

Group Bookings To Save Money

We are ready to retire from the work force in the next year or two and that’s when we will be spending winters a bit further south and for that we will try to go with a group for our first time.

This will not only save us money but we will be able to learn so much from those who have gone before us. South that is. Tour packages always have better rates for groups over single packages.

Use Google To Learn More

I use Google searches for most everything I want to learn more about because it’s so very helpful. You can find information on the location where you can go and even strategies for spending less, which is right up our alley.

Google is great for finding the best deals whether you’re on a budget or not, it’s always nice to save money for other things.

Search for Discount Coupons

My parents went to Florida every winter, after they retired, and Dad was great at finding the best deals and new which travel agencies offered big discounts.

Travel Membership Club

Another good idea is to join membership clubs  where thousands of shop owners and companies are offering fantastic club membership discounts.

I like reading articles on EzineArticles.com as it’s a great way to learn more about travel and making it affordable today. I am sure you’ll like it as well. Be sure to bookmark the article directory so you can return to learn more.

Travel Blogs And Forums

As a blogger I know the value there is in a good blog and you will find many travel related blogs. You can also find forums where people share their experiences so be sure to check out both with a quick Google search.

Just look for the phrase ‘travel blog’ or ‘travel forum’ and your destination. Something like the following should work well.

While in Google’s search engine type:

travel blog +new brunswick +Canada

For a forum where people discuss their travels you could type:

new brunswick Canada travel forum

This is a great way to get real life experiences others have had, both good and bad.

Subscribe the forums you like so that you can ask all the questions you have on your mind. Most often you will get multiple replies that will help you out.

Bring only those things that you will need. If you are traveling by car, total car weight load can save gasoline expenses especially for a long drive.

Carry along with you your first aid kit. This is a must for every traveller.

Do not forget  your medications and important contact address and phone numbers in case of emergency.

As a summary , prepare your trip in advance, observe  traffic rules and take pre-cautionary measures all the time . Try to join group package deal tour, it is cheaper, more secured and more enjoyable. Conduct a Google search for better summer vacation travel offers and discounted coupons. Visit blog and forum sites to learn helpful tips from other people’s experiences. Bring all your important travel documents with including your contact addresses. Bring ID and do not forget your membership discount card. Take care not to loose your valuables and eat moderately. That is it. Enjoy!
